Video Conferencing
NBCU has locations across the country and a large integrated video conferencing network. Traditionally Cisco C series codecs have been controlled using Crestron touch panels. Conference rooms at NBCUniversal double as ad hoc screening rooms where creatives share content with decision makers. Many groups within the environment have the need for full 4k60 4:4:4 video and 7.1 surround in their conference rooms. As a media company, NBCU relies very heavily on the AV environment.
The decision was made that because of the complexity of the media requirements, the fully featured UI that had been developed over the past decade to control conference rooms had become too complex. End users were leaning too heavily on the AV department for support. The directive came to implement Cisco touch 10 panels with a custom UI developed using the XAPI to automate and simplify the environment. ITI was called upon as a trusted partner to develop the code to support this effort, install new hardware and manage the project nation wide across 600 conference rooms.
ITI delivered on time and on budget. Currently NBCU continues to rely on ITI to support its most prestigious meeting places and the AV requirements needed to ensure seamless operation.
